EMP Session Series 2 | Newborn In Home Sessions

I've had the joy of photographing newborns since I first started my business in 2004. Back then, I was photographing them solely in my home studio with a black backdrop and single studio light. I still adore the types of images that result from that type of setup, but as I began to fall in love with natural light I soon ventured to photographing newborns in their homes. I love love love babies and getting to photograph them so fresh to the world. Over time, I've discovered my favorite way to capture them is in a more relational way with parents and siblings.

If your master bedroom gets great light, that's always my first choice for photos. If not, I'll look for another place in your home that will work well. My style with newborns has evolved to a more simplistic and neutral/soft color palette. With that said, I also take into consideration what is important to you and if that means some bright/bold colors, I'm happy to incorporate those. I do bring along some simple props, wraps, accessories, and even a faux wood floor roll out if needed.

If you are interested in more information on in home newborn sessions, please contact me and I'll get more information to you. I will also be doing a series post on my studio style sessions if you prefer coming to me.

My brother-in-law calls this pose "chillin with my homies". And that's what I'll be referring to it as from here on out :)

Thank you Kelsey and Eric and big brother Asher! It was wonderful photographing you all with new baby Grady and the joy he brings to your family xo
