Today my hubby and I have officially been married for 7 years!  I can’t believe it’s been that long now, and it’s hard to remember life without my best friend by my side.  

I’m so thankful for Matt… when we got married, I knew I hit the jackpot, but going through the day to day things together has allowed me to see more of what an amazing person he truly is!  I always tell Matt that something I love about him is that he has a humble strength about him.  He works so hard and is so good at what he does to bring home the bacon, he’s an amazing daddy, smart, funny and giving… but he is not one to toot his own horn (so I have to do it for him )  He is humble.  But, at the same time, he is strong.  He has a humble confidence about him because he knows who he is… the most important part of who he is… a child of God.  He lives knowing that he is saved by grace and that pours into every area of his life… the way he treats others and offers compassion.

We found ourselves with 3 kids all within a range of 19 months!  They are our pride and joy, but nonetheless, it’s challenging.  And yet my hubby has embraced fatherhood and is the official “jungle gym” that the kids love to play on  Many years ago I told him that I wanted to be a photographer… without even questioning the who, what, when, where and how, he supported me.  I don’t think I could have gotten this far without that loving support.  

Before we got married, I was given many tid bits of wisdom that I tucked away in my head and have been priceless throughout these 7 years.  I look back in the earlier years and wish I would have been a wiser wife, but then realize that wisdom is something that comes through time and experience.  One of my biggest prayers is that I would have wisdom in my marriage.  And I think there’s a lot of wisdom in this statement that I remember my high school pastor saying when i was just 15 or 16 years old:   ”That which you treat as precious will become precious to you”   I guess it’s another way of saying:  ”Love is a choice”.  Our marriage is not perfect, and no marriage is meant to be.  After all, it’s composed of two flawed people, right  But I’m so thankful for the blessing of the marriage relationship.  And thankful for the man that I get to do this life with.

I actually didn’t mean for this post to be all that long, but I don’t get to talk about my hubby much on here, and like I said, I like to toot his horn when I can!  And I can’t just write and not post any images because that’s no fun, so here’s a few somewhat recent shots of us:

I love this next one because it is so Matt and I… we love coffee and we love to travel… and this was us having lattes in Venice.  This was pre-twins, so now of days our traveling is quite a bit closer to home

And finally a couple that my good friend Janelle Zeller took last Christmas… yes, she caught us making out in the corn field  hehe
