Sure, just as soon as I make plans to blog more regularly, technical glitches strike again!!  I need an IT department.  If you noticed I was offline for a bit, here’s why:

I sat down to check my email a couple weeks ago to find that Entourage (the Mac version of Outlook for all you PC users!) can’t retrieve my email.  Hmmm.  Not sure what the problem is.  So I check my internet connection, account settings, restart the computer.  No change.  I realize that my website and blog are also down, so I contact my web host to see if the issue is on their end.  Nope.  Finally, after much time scratching my head, I figure out that the problem is with my domain.  Like it was kicked out of cyber space or whatever they do to flush info from the world wide web!!  NOT GOOD!  I was on a rescue mission to redeem my domain from obliteration for the past two weeks and after much whining, begging and pleading with the nice people reading to me from their cue cards, my domain was finally plugged back in!!  So in the end, mission impossible: finally successful.  When my email started working again, an overwhelming amount of messages poured into my inbox.  I sat down and tackled the mound, so if you emailed me and have not heard back, I probably didn’t receive your email.  PLEASE RE-SEND and I’ll get back to you promptly!

Next up, lots of things going on around here personally.  We are in the moving and all the kids summer activities are beginning.  I still have some summer sessions available, so if you are interested, please email me!  I know it’s HOT, but don’t miss capturing your pregnancy or newborn because of it!  I would love to chat with you about the different options for locations and keeping as cool as possible during your shoot!  On a non-photography note, I would love to know what those of you with small children are planning on doing to keep the little ones cooled off and entertained during the wretched summer months.  Yes, I know some of you relish the heat and summer sun, but this Irish girl gets a sunburn just driving around in the car!  Would love to hear your ideas!!

And now on to the photos!!  Welcome baby Grace Elizabeth!  Her sweet momma wanted to do their session outdoors, and I absolutely loved the idea.  The temp was just perfect and Grace let us get most of the shots we were envisioning!  I know this little sweet pea is loved to pieces by both sides of the family and will be well looked after by handsome big brother Hudson.  Look how much her already loves her:

Thanks Y family for inviting my photograph your beautiful family once again!

So, if the technical troubles stay at bay, I’ll be back with a few posts next week.  Got some catching up to do on client posts and some “Diggin It, Over It” to blab about :)

Have a great weekend all!

Hello Friends, Acquaintances and Blog Stalkers!

(Don’t worry, if you are in the latter category, I am glad you are here!  I am a self-proclaimed blog stalker myself.  Though don’t be afraid to say hello!  And if you have a blog, I’ll most certainly be stopping by.)

Ok, first up… I am loving Brandon Heath’s new song “Love Never Fails.”  One of those songs that really speaks to my heart.  In a world where love is equated with an emotion, this song spells out the true definition.  And it’s not based on how you feel about a person.  In fact, this is how we should strive to love, but it can only be found perfectly through the Creator of Love.  It’s based on I Corinthians 13:4-13.  When it’s all said and done, this is how we all craved to be loved.

Next up… technical glitches.  I’ve known for a while now my blog has not been jiving with RSS and Google Reader!  It’s been on the “list” of things to look into, but anything techy like that usually takes me an entire day to iron out.  Soooooo… i’ve been avoiding it.  Sometimes I feel like I need an IT department around here!  But I know if I don’t get alerted by RSS or my Google Reader that a blog has been updated, I don’t remember to check it.  I presume it’s the same for most of you too.  Well, lucky for me I have a sister-in-law who is techy savvy and got my RSS feed all straightened out and my blog communicating with Readers via RSS again!  Woot!!  Thanks Lori!

Finally, a quick peek at a couple photos of my beautiful friend Christie.  One of the best gifts in life are true and genuine friends… and getting to celebrate life’s blessings together.  And a very sweet blessing is on his way.

I’ll be back a couple more times this week.  Have another sweet newborn to share (that would be your baby girl Y family!)  Also, I have a post I’ve been working on that is for fellow photographers, clients, mommas with cameras… really anyone that likes taking photos!  Have a great Monday!

Joyfully, Erin

Rylan

It’s warming up and just about the perfect temp for outdoor newborn photos!  I can’t tell you how excited that makes me since newborns + the great outdoors + my camera= one happy photographer!  Well, we weren’t totally outdoors for sweet baby Rylan’s session.  We were at his grandpa’s house, which had some pretty great scenery all around the place & the little guy loved the the soft sounds and very comfortable mid-80s temp we were experiencing!  At only four days old, this sweet little one has everyone completely smitten with him!  Ten fingers, ten toes, and a full head of beautiful dark hair… welcome to the world Rylan!

Rylan and his gorgeous momma!  See where he got all the great hair?!

Already a Daddy’s boy I think!

This shot was just taken as D was trying to calm Rylan down for the next set of shots, but I think she looks amazing and calm and stunning… not like she just gave birth 4 days ago and hasn’t slept more than 3 hours at a time!  :)

ooooooo… this nook had me at hello.  When I was taking the tour looking for the best photo ops in the house, this was number one on my list!  Looks a little enchanting right… just needed a sweet baby in a basket to make it perfect!  Luckily, Rylan gave us this one shot before he decided he didn’t like my little spot as much as I did.

But he loved this!  Being outdoors put him right back to sleep.

Photos are hard work!  And little guy let me know that with a few big yawns…

How can a baby not be happy here… wrapped in mom’s arms, laying on her chest, a naked bum, and snuggled tight!

And have I mentioned I get to photograph the most wonderful families??  Not only was I invited to stay for dinner, but when I had to decline, they packaged up some of the amazing food that was prepared and sent me on my way with a yummy meal!  If I were still a college student, they might have created a stray cat out of me… back every week for more picture and home cooked meals :)  Seriously though, amazingly generous and hospitable!

This awesome door also had me at hello.

Doesn’t get any sweeter than this…

D family, it was such a privilege to photographer your family of 3!

Joyfully, Erin
